Narodniki-Women  |  2013

Narodniki-Women is a street art activist memorial to Russian female political activism in XIX and the early XX century. The portrait line represents seven female activists from Narodniki (or Narodnaya Volya), an early socialist movement. Each portrait is identified by the name of an activist and the penalty she endured for her political activity: from exile to the death penalty. The project was done in 2013 in Moscow, in the context of civil protests in Russia and the ongoing trail of Pussy Riot group.
